- There are individuals you'll likely want to engage in your preparation process. These people are stakeholders. A stakeholder is essentially defined as anyone who has an interest or stake in the work you're doing. Stakeholders may or may not be part of the audience. However, thinking through their potential responses will help you ensure that you've thought about your effort from every angle. There's a systematic way to thinking about these important people and entities. Let's go through four steps to analyzing stakeholders. Identify, rank, target, and move. The first is to identify key stakeholders for your initiative. Literally, make a list of the people or groups that will likely have an opinion about the presentation topic. They can be internal or external to your organization. Now that you've identified the stakeholders, rank the by power and interest.
