It's easily one of the best things you can do for your health, in fact. So, the studies by Stephanie Brown at the University of Michigan showing that if you spend time giving care or emotional support to others, it actually gives you a longevity boost so givers live longer. There's neuroscience that shows that when you give, it actually activates some of the same pleasure centers in our brain that receiving does, only it's more meaningful because when we receive something, that's just for us, right?
