Reviewing the general purpose of RFP
- That request for proposals, shortened to RFP is a formal invitation to submit a proposal. It will specify exactly the work to be performed or the product or services to deliver, budgets, deadlines, maybe even the length of the proposal. It should convey the organization's intent and vital aspects of the requested project. The RFP will generally have a number attached to it, and that number needs to be included in your proposal. Maybe even a copy of, or at least parts, of the actual RFP. Responding to an RFP may seem as though you're being required to jump through lots of hoops. But think about this, the RFP process can be expensive and painful for both companies, the one writing the RFP and the one writing the proposal in response to the RFP. And unfortunately, sometimes a proposal writer may have to respond to a poorly written RFP. Let's look at some of the standard RFP sections. What's the Purpose?
