- [Voiceover] Your next step, whether you have experience writing proposals, or whether you're getting ready to write your first one, could be to look at the checklist or rubrics in the exercise file to help give you some idea of what questions to ask, what to include, and how to evaluate your proposal. Then, before you begin, step back and analyze if you have the time, money, and energy to undertake writing a proposal. If this will be your first proposal, then allow extra time and energy. However, the more high quality proposals you produce, the easier the process will become. The next step, if your proposal isn't accepted is not to give up. Be honest with yourself, was it the best it could be? As the story goes, a recent employee was asked to submit an internal proposal. He prepared it and handed it to his boss.
