Join Brenda Bailey-Hughes for an in-depth discussion in this video Overview of the three circles, part of Building Trust.
Think of your trust building efforts as three concentric circles. We'll start by looking at the innermost circle. The core of trust, is about being worthy of trust. We'll examine how to make ethical decisions, when we're put in tough situations, a time that our trustworthiness is certainly on the line. Then we'll turn our attention to the middle circle, where we will learn how to demonstrate trust through daily behaviors that we exhibit. Big and small, our actions prove to others, over the long run, whether we warrant their trust or not.
And finally, we'll explore this outer circle, which include cues that people use to judge our credibility, within just a matter of seconds. I call them the credibility boosters and busters. They are little things we unconsciously do, that can enhance or detract from our perception of being trustworthy. These three circles of trust, are the secret ingredients that can help you improve all of your relationships, at work and at home.
