- We've all taken time at the beginning of a new year to reflect on the past and make resolutions for the future. It comes from the desire to have a better life or make oneself a better person. Setting goals is important, but I want to talk about how to get the results you want. We want to explore how to finally make the changes in your life that you've tried in the past, or perhaps have been putting off year after year. This is why this course is not titled "Setting Goals," but "Achieving Your Goals." When you achieve results on a consistent basis, it becomes very motivational.
Seeing evidence of the progress you've made will actually push you to make more progress. On the other hand, it can be demotivating when you set a goal too high and don't achieve it. This course is not meant to teach you everything there is to know about goals or the psychology of success. Instead, we're going to give you a straightforward, seven-step process, so that you can achieve results on the goals that you set. This process is based on well over a decade of experience working with people in all kinds of positions.
As a CEO coach, I've helped business leaders move off of performance plateaus and achieve better results than they have in the past. This seven-step system is an abbreviated version of the process I've shared with leaders around the world. The seven steps are creating a vision, dividing to conquer, processing into actions, making your commitment public, establishing accountability, celebrating your successes, and reviewing your progress.
