Creating the baseline grid

Some more setup. This time, the baseline grid. The baseline grid is an incremented ruling so that we can make sure that the baselines of our type sit on that increment and that they align in cross columns. It's going to create a very ordered, very structured look to our document. Now if I come to the finished version and turn on my guides, there we see the baseline grid, it's that gray rule at a 12 point increment and I'm now going to just hide the 4 column guides layer and zoom in and you can see what I mean there.

That's the baseline and our columns of type are all sitting on that baseline. It's not going to be possible for all of our text because we are going to be using text at different sizes with different leading or line spacing amounts, but wherever possible, we want to stick to the baseline grid. So to come to the work in progress now, to turn the grid on, we go to the View menu > Grids & Guides > Show Baseline Grid, and what you get is going to...
