About the Author
Brad is an awarding-winning designer, artist, and educator. He earned his master's degree from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, presenting his graduate work at MIT and at Fabrica of Benetton in Italy. He is the director of transmedia in the Graphic Design Department at Art Center College of Design, where he has implemented transmedia pedagogy and overseen the development of transmedia curricula. Brad received the prestigious Great Teacher Award in 2003 and again in 2014, where he was honored to deliver the commencement address to the 2014 graduating class. The work of his Los Angeles–based studio has won a wide array of international design awards from Communication Arts, Graphis, and Print to How, I.D., and the American Center for Design 100 Show, and has been recognized by the SAPPI: Ideas that Matter program. In 2012, Brad was awarded the highest honor from the American Alliance of Museums—the Frances Smyth-Ravenel Grand Prize for Excellence in Publication Design—for the Altered Landscape: Photographs of a Changing Environment.
