Join Gini von Courter for an in-depth discussion in this video Setting folder security options, part of Up and Running with Box.
…Security options allow you to restrict the people who can access a folder and…the files in it.…So if we go to the > Employee Orientation folder, and…choose > Properties, slide down to > Security properties.…And it will open the same dialogue we've been seeing but on the Security tab.…Restrictions allow you to say that only specific members of the team, the owners…and co-owners of this folder, can allow someone else to join as a collaborator.…Now that wouldn't stop them from sending a link to share a particular file but…it means that no one else can expand the size of the team.…
That's off by default.…You can turn it on.…You can also hide all the collaborators, and if you do, then it…automatically turns on the restriction of who can send collaborator invites.…And what happens when you hide collaborators is that only the owners or…co-owners can see who is a collaborator in the site.…Everyone else when they look at a document will simply say someone.…So in this case, we have a lot of people working, for…example, on a group of documents.…
