Another recipe for simulating 3D Depth inside After Effects is to duplicate a couple of flat 3D layers and move each one, one pixel back in the Z space incrementally. This will give a sense of real depth and can be controlled via expressions. With the correct setup, you can also update the text and it will flow through the procedural compositions and update itself automatically. So let's see how this can be achieved and what are the limitations of this method. I'm going to start with the same base composition and once again I'm just going to borrow the name from the final comps. Remember you can always check the final version just so you get a sense of what you need to achieve. So, this is our starting point. We already know that we need to worry about those two layers, numbers seven and eight. This is also the reason, why I've color coded them with the Cyan label.
