Join Jen Kramer for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the exercise files, part of Bootstrap 3: Customizing with LESS.
Exercise files for this course have been made available to all lynda.com subscribers. Simply download the exercise files to your computer, and place them on the desktop for ease of access. The exercise files are organized by chapter number. Whenever an exercise file is available for a video. You'll see an overlay at the bottom of the screen that indicates the location and the name of the exercise file. Chapters one and two of this course cover putting together your Bootstrap site, with Bootstrap's Less jQuery, and the exercise files to create a working website.
It also covers using Sublime Text and Prepros for creating a workflow for working with Less. Chapters three and four get to the meat of understanding Bootstrap's Less files. If you're already familiar with Less, you may want to jump into the course in chapter three. You can also use other work flows for compiling Less files, if you're familiar with other methods. We'll work inside the Bootstrap folder on your desktop. Once we create the working website, we won't be referring to these exercise files again.
However, if you want to jump around in the video structure or if you get lost along the way, there's a start and final folder for each video so you can grab any files you require along the way. Working with the exercise files can add great value to the training. However, if you don't choose to use the exercise files, you can still follow along with the videos using your own files, and have a fulfilling learning experience.
