When working with digital construction drawings or blueprints in Bluebeam Revu, you commonly need to search for symbols or characters. In this video, Jim explains that Bluebeam contains a Visual Search tool that allows you to conduct that type of search and describes how the Visual Search tool settings can be used to get the most accurate results.
- [Jim] Hello, Jim Rogers here…and in this episode of Bluebeam Tips and Tricks…I want to show you how to use Bluebeam's visual search tool.…So we're going to head over here to the left side of the screen…where I can find my search tool bar.…I'm going to click to open that search panel.…In another episode, I showed you the text search…so we're going to click this time on visual…and check out the visual search feature.…You know, in construction drawings,…we're not always searching for text.…Sometimes we're searching for symbols.…
I may want to find all of the instances…of this symbol here that represents the toilet.…I may want to find light fixtures…on an electrical plan and so on.…So this visual search feature,…really comes in handy but you do have to know how to use it…and what some of these settings are for.…So let's check it out.…The first thing you always do when you're creating…a visual search is you click on get rectangle.…This is going to allow us to draw a box…around the item that we want to search for.…
