Bluebeam Revu contains the ability to attach other files of all types to a PDF document, and doing so embeds the file itself into that PDF file. Jim demonstrates this process by attaching a Revit file directly to a construction plan sheet, showing how others can then access and extract that attached file for their own use.
- [Jim] Welcome back to Bluebeam Tips and Tricks.…I'm Jim Rogers, and in another episode…I showed you how to create this text here…underneath the title block called Project Specs.…And I showed you how to make this a clickable link,…to open the Project Specs,…right here in Bluebeam.…Now, this is a great way to create hyperlinks,…to other files that you have access to.…So what I mean by that is,…this link works for me because I have this Project Specs…file on my computer.…
Now if I took that file and these drawings,…and I stored them in a Bluebeam studio project,…then everybody who had access to that studio project,…would also be able to use this link,…and open up the Project Specs.…But, if I took this set of drawings,…and I clicked on File, Save As,…and I went ahead and saved this PDF file…and emailed it to somebody else,…this link is not going to to work for them.…Because they don't have access to files on my computer.…So there's one more way that we can make this work,…by actually embedding the Project Specs file…
