The document submittal and review process needs to be well thought out so that it results in an orderly workflow that leverages the tools in Bluebeam REVU and in Bluebeam Studio to carry the workload and make the process more efficeint. Jim explains how to set up an efficeint process to facilitate the review of the multiple safety data sheets that are collected on a construction project.
- [Voiceover] Now that all of our attendees…have joined our Studio Session,…we're ready to start facilitating the document review…and getting documents into the session.…So you see our document window is empty right now.…We don't have anything to collaborate on,…so we need to go ahead and…get people to start submitting safety data sheets.…Now, depending on the requirements for your projects,…there's actually several different ways…that this can happen.…If you've got a simple project,…and there are not many people…looking at this safety data sheet submittals.…
So for example, maybe I have a project…where the only people that need to look at…these safety data sheets are maybe myself…as the project engineer or project manager…and then my safety director.…We might not even use a cover sheet.…So if I don't use a cover sheet,…I can very easily just tell my subcontractors…to log into Studio Sessions, click on add,…and upload those documents themselves.…But I do need them to name them properly,…and we'll look at why that is in just a minute.…
The end result is an easily accessible electronic package, with a hyperlinked chemical list that acts as a clickable table of contents—all with considerably less effort. Jim Rogers shows how to set up a project, start a studio session for collaboration, invite collaborators to the review process, set up an approval workflow, and combine all the submitted sheets into a single PDF file that can be searched and shared. Plus, learn how to keep a session open for additional submittals or archive it when a project is over.
