Interaction with web applications

- [Instructor] Web based applications are a common type of application that Blue Prism interacts with and can be launched from any web browser. There are multiple browsers which Blue Prism is compatible with. This gives more flexibility depending on what browser an application requires to run on. The three browsers available are Internet Explorer, which has been available since the first release of Blue Prism, and recently from version six of Blue Prism, Chrome and Firefox are also supported. The browser requires to be selected when the application modeler is set up by simply selecting one of the following options. Browser based applications for either Chrome and Firefox or browser based application for Internet Explorer. Depending on the type of application which is required for the automated process, Blue Prism provides a different adapter and by adapter, we mean the spine mold by which elements are identified on the screen. In regard to web applications, the standard adapters which can be used are Win32, which is normally used for identifying the Windows screen rather than the elements within the application, Browser, which recognizes the HTML elements within the application, Active accessibility, which can identify a mixture of web elements and can be used when HTML doesn't work, and finally, UI automation, which supports native interactions for Microsoft UI Automation.
