Environment variables overview

- [Instructor] Environmental variables are variables which can be accessed by all processes or objects within the same Blue Prism database. They can be quite beneficial when the same value needs to be used across multiple processes at the same time. They allow for more flexibility when the value needs to be updated which is done once at one place rather than in every single process it's used. A few examples of environment variables can be any value which needs to be accessed by multiple processes or objects. Like application URLs, in case there are several URLs for the same application for connecting to different databases. Folder locations are quite typical usage of the same location on a shared drive. For example could be used by a few processes with different purposes. Either accessing saved files, or saving files which have been created by the automation process. And email templates.
