A word of warning about layers

One of the most frustrating aspects of learning any new tool set in a software application, can be the situation which we suddenly find things behaving in a very odd manner. And of course, being new to the tools, having no idea why. Well, in this video, we're going to attempt to pre-empt one such possible situation. And talk for a couple of minutes about the way in which simulation objects and Blender's layer system work, or don't work as the case may be. If I just hit the play button here, you see that we get a perhaps expected result based on the simulation tests that we have done so far. This is because at this moment in time, all of the geometry in our scene resides on just one default base layer. If I switch over to a different layer, we see everything in the view port disappear. Which is perhaps, not surprising. This means, that at present, all of our cloth and collision objects are sharing or reside on the same layer.
