The importance of mesh subdivision

One important point that can easily be overlooked when creating geometric objects for use inside of cloth simulation, is the fact that the surface subdivision type applied to the mesh will most definitely have an effect on both the motion and draping of the cloth inside a simulation. To demonstrate just what we mean by that, let's make use of the two cloth planes that we have set up in our bench test scene. These, if I just open up the Physics tab and switch between them, have been set up to use cloth modifiers with identical parameter settings. In fact, the settings that you see here, so steps set to 10, self collisions enabled, and friction set to 15. Other defaults that we will be using as the starting point for our cloth objects in most of the scenes that we will be working with in this course.
