Join Darrin Lile for an in-depth discussion in this video What you should know, part of Creating a Game Environment in Blender and Unity.
- There's a lot to talk about in this course so I'll be assuming some basic knowledge of the programs we'll be using. You should understand the basics of navigation in Blender and the fundamentals of 3D modeling. For an overview of this check out George Masteri's Blender Essential Training. It's an excellent introduction to Blender. In addition take a look at my blender UV Mapping course. In it we go over the purpose and process of UV mapping. This is an important part in the game creation process.
If you are unfamiliar with Unity go on over to Unity 5: 3D Essential Training with Adam Crespi. It's a broad and thorough look at the fundamentals of Unity. Lastly we will be using Photoshop to build our textures. So considering perusing Photoshop CC 2015: One-on-One Fundamentals with Deke McClelland. All right we've got a lot to cover so lets get started creating our game environment.
- Testing the scale
- Modeling buildings and pipes
