- In this week's Blender Tips, Tricks, and Techniques, we're going to look at how to create a tiling floor material using only cycles nodes. Cycles nodes are a combination of algorithms, and math, and other useful bits to help you create beautiful looking materials with just a few clicks. Let's jump in. First, let's go ahead and delete this cube. Let's hit Shift a, and add a plane, and scale that guy up. Shift a again, and let's add a monkey, and GZ to bring him up. Let's come over here and go to Cycle Surrender, and let's delete this lamp. Hit X to delete. Shift a, let's go ahead and add a new lamp, and we're going to call it sun. Bring him up over here, and rotate. And one more thing I want to do is bring out this panel here, and close all of this, and look for Sampling. And change my preview to 16. That way Blender will actually preview things a lot faster. And now, let's go ahead and preview by clicking here, and going to Render. Okay, this is looking pretty cool. So now, let's go…
