- [Instructor] In this week's Blender Tips, Tricks, and Techniques, I want to show you how to check your UVs very quickly in the viewport and, as an added bonus, talk about how the developers have improved the way your UVs subdivide and, in general, how subdivision works now in Blender 2.8. Let's start with a complex shape. So, click on our cube and hit Delete, Shift + A, let's add a monkey. Make sure, down here in the bottom left, that Generate UVs is on. Let's come all the way down here where it says Material. Let's add a new material, drag this open, and let's go to UV Editor. Now, zoom in to this monkey, and with UV Editor on the right, click on New. Under name, we'll type in UVs. And where it says Generated Type, go to Color Grid and then click OK. Now, if I hit Tab, I can go into edit mode and see my monkey's UVs are here by hitting A. Looks pretty good. I can Tab out of edit mode. Come to Base Color, go to Image Texture.
