Preserve sculptural detail by baking normals
- [Instructor] Before we wrap up our chapter on sculpting, there's one more thing I want to cover, and namely, that's preserving all the detail that we've created. We've talked about creating these high-resolution sculpts with tons of detail, and then how to low-res remesh them so we can prep them for animation in games and movies, but we've lost all that detail in that remeshing process. Well, with baking, you can actually preserve all of it on a low-res mesh. Let me show you. It's going to help to have an interesting thing to actually bake to. So with this sphere, I'm going to set my strength up to two, F, and I'm just going to make just an interesting shape. It doesn't really matter what you do, just make something interesting. It looks like it reset here, so here we go. Again, doesn't matter what you make, just make it interesting. All right, so we got something going on there. So now, what I want to do is sculpt some…
