Join George Maestri for an in-depth discussion in this video Navigating in 3D space, part of Blender Essential Training.
- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at how…to navigate in Blender.…Navigation in Blender is done using…the middle mouse button,…so you really need a three button mouse,…in order to use Blender efficiently.…Now navigation is as simple as…pressing down that middle mouse button.…So if you press down the middle mouse button and drag,…you can orbit the scene.…If you hold down the Ctrl key,…along with the middle mouse button,…you can zoom in and out,…or dolly in and out, basically,…so what you're doing is moving the camera in and out.…
And you can also roll the middle mouse button…if you have a mouse that has a rolling middle mouse.…Now holding down the Shift key…and the middle mouse button, allows you to pan.…So very simply,…if you hold down middle mouse you can orbit,…Ctrl allows you to zoom,…Shift allows you to pan.…Very easy.…So, if we want to,…we can use this to isolate an object,…so let's say I wanted to zoom in to this chair here,…I could certainly do that.…
Now there are times when you may…want to see everything in the scene,…
