Join Alan Thorn for an in-depth discussion in this video Merging wall sections, part of Blender: Interior Environments for Games.
- [Voiceover] So we've now modeled…the three different pieces here.…So we have this wall section,…this wall section and the floor section…and what I want to do now is to combine…all of these together or join them together as a single mesh…and then fix any outstanding topology issues…and as we see, there will be some topology issues.…So I'm going to select the far-reaching wall…and I'm going to Shift select the remaining pieces…to add those to the selection…so that all three meshes are selected…and with them selected I want to join them together.…
I can do that by accessing the toolbox…on the left-hand side of the interface…and clicking the Join button.…In addition, you can see from the pop-up dialog here…that the keyboard shortcut for that is Control J.…That is under the Maya style controls.…So I'm going to press Control J on the keyboard…to combine all of those meshes together as one.…You can see that they are now indeed combined,…not only from the outliner panel…in which we see just one E and V mesh,…but if I select the mesh and move it around…
