Having looked at how the quality steps control can affect the behavior of an already established plot type, such as the cut and preset, we are going to look now at how we make use of the material options on the cloth modifier to actually create the look of a specific cloth type, our fabric, that we may need. Now, just to be clear, by material controls, we are not of course referring to the texture or surface properties of cloth objects in the scene, but rather the mass, structural, and bending options that can be found under this material heading in our cloth modifier's properties. These controls have a massive effect on the way that cloth geometry will behave, and so will greatly affect the perception that the viewer has regarding the type of material that they are looking at in our shot. In our start scene, we are again making use of the same basic settings used for most of the scenes in this course. That is the custom preset with a modified quality steps value of ten, cloth…
