Finding your mission statement

- [Narrator] By now you should be collecting all of the work that you think could represent you. But remember, portfolios are about building trust, and a clear direction will help you stay focused and prevent random clutter from seeping into your message and more importantly your decisions. It's time to establish your mission. Remember, we're going to keep it simple. Your mission is your mission, nobody else's. What's right for you may not be right for somebody else, so don't get lost in the opinions of others. Be specific and avoid dressing up the language too much. No more than two sentences are necessary in any mission statement. You may be considering your objective: to find a job in the packaging field. Objectives aren't missions. A mission statement serves the bigger picture. It serves who you are and not what you want. A mission may be to make brands more user friendly through user centered design practices.
