What you should know
- [Instructor] In this course we'll be using Bash 4.2 running on CentOS 7 Linux with GNU tools. However, this course can be taken on any version of Bash newer than 3.0 on any operating system, including macOS X. I provide warnings and suggested workarounds in cases where command output may differ. The POSIX regular expressions portion of this course can be useful for anyone using them in programming languages such as PHP or C. I recommend that you use the GNU versions of Grep, Awk, and sed, but it's not required.
