Viewing a model section
- At times it can be handy to view a section of your 3D model. Let's see how that's done in BIM 360. I'll go ahead and open my Madison.rvt file and by default we open to a 3D view. And to help get our orientation straight on these different section directions, I'm going to switch to top view. And think of this as the X direction being to the right. The Y direction being up and the Z direction coming up out of the screen. Now down here are my section tools and you can see by the little triangle they fly out into multiple tools. I'll go ahead and click the first one which is add X plane. What that actually will do is cut a section perpendicular to the X plane so I can move this section along the X axis. Now in top view this doesn't look like anything all that exciting but when I rotate it around into 3D view, you can see that I've cut right through the building and I'm able to see into the interior. So you can imagine…
