Adding an account admin

- [Instructor] The first thing we're going to learn how to do in BIM 360 is how to add an account admin. Now you don't want to be the only account admin. I mean what if you're out sick or unavailable for some reason? You're going to want at least one other person to have admin capabilities. Now before we dig into this, you know what is an account admin? Well, the account admin basically has power over everything in BIM 360. They can add and remove users. They can create projects. They can see all the projects that are in the account. They are project admins over all of the projects in the account and they have full permission to all folders in every project. That's just to name a few of the things that account admins can do. When somebody in your company or your organization needs help with an account, there may be a need for somebody with account admin capabilities to take care of them. That's why you always want to have at least two of them. Okay, so now that we know what an account admin is, how do we add another one? Well, we'll start by going to the account admin screen. I'll click the module selector and then account admin. Next, I'll go to the members tab. Okay, so now that I am here on the account admin screen, I'll simply go to the add dropdown and select invite account admins. From this screen, I'll simply type in the e-mail address of the person I'd like to add. I'm going to use something fictitious here. I'm going to say new.account.admin@email.com. I'll click add. And you'll see that, by default, it chooses my company as their company. I can choose a default role for this person and that means that each time they're added to a project they'll be given this role. I'll say that this person is a BIM manager. But I could choose any role. And then you'll see that my access level is automatically set to account admin. Once that's done, I can select invite. And that person is going to receive an e-mail invitation that they will then accept and when they do, they will become an account admin and they will have every bit as much power as I do. What if somebody's already been invited into the account and you want to promote them to account admin? Well, you can do that too. Let's say, if I scroll down here a bit, we see this user named Greg Rodriguez. You know I added Greg as just a project admin let's say a few months ago, but now for whatever reason, Greg needs to have full capabilities as an account admin. All I do is click on Greg's name. That brings up his member profile. I'll then click edit and all I have to do is check the box next to account admin and Greg becomes an account admin as soon as I hit save. Now I don't really want to do that for Greg, so I'm going to cancel out. I'll go back to all members to my members screen. There you have it. That's how you add account admins to your BIM 360 account.
