Microsoft updated and improved the Azure exams in the summer of 2018. This video describes the new Azure role-based exams.
- [Narrator] Before we jump into the good stuff of AZ-900 I would first like to spend a few moments reviewing the new Azure Exams and Certifications. Microsoft announced the new Azure exams in the summer of 2018. The exams are now role based which means the objectives are based on the task that are performed by the role. Let's review the infrastructure exams that are currently available. Starting off with the Fundamental Certifications. This is as of July 2019. There is only one fundamental certification and that is the Azure certified Azure Fundamentals. And it only requires one exam: AZ-900. And of course this is the exam that this course is based on. Moving up the ladder in certifications is the Associate Certifications. And there are three of them as of July 2019. Again, in the infrastructure realm. There is the Azure Administrator Associate, which requires you to take and pass one exam, AZ-103, there is the Azure Certified Azure Developer Associate Certification which is AZ-203. Again, only one exam. And the Azure Security Engineer Associate, AZ-500. Passing any of these exams will give you the associate level certification. Moving up the ladder once more, we have the Expert Certifications. And right now there are two in the infrastructure realm. There is the Azure Certified DevOps Engineer Expert, and this requires AZ-103 or AZ-203, plus another exam, AZ-400. Also at the expert level is the Azure Solutions Architect Expert. This also requires two exams, but you don't have a choice in the exams. You must take and pass AZ-300 and AZ-301. You can use the foundations of this course not only to take the AZ-900 exam, but you can use this to build your Azure knowledge and maybe continue on your certification path.
