What you should know

- [Narrator] I'm assuming that most people starting this course are considering taking the AZ-204 exam on developing solutions for Microsoft Azure. With that in mind, it is likely that most people taking this exam will be working with Azure as part of their day job or have been studying it in their own time. This means that throughout this course, I'll assume that you have some familiarity with the platform. For example, I won't go into a huge amount of detail about how to use the Azure Portal, as I'm assuming most of you will have already seen it. And if you haven't, it might be worth going and trying a few things out, creating a subscription, a resource group, a resource within that group before starting this course just so that the interface isn't totally new to you when we use it in our examples. I'll also assume that you have some understanding of how Azure solutions are constructed using different services provided by the platform to meet different requirements and needs. There aren't many people using Azure that regularly use all of the different Azure services. So I won't assume that you have any in-depth knowledge of any particular offering. But I am assuming that some of these will be familiar to you. So hopefully the course won't be a complete barrage of new terms and definitions. But in saying that there's not any necessary requirements have used any of these services before. If you're just starting out on your journey with Azure, this might be a good overview of the different services and offerings which are available. Throughout the course we'll touch on a range of Azure services and solutions, and I'll provide some resources later on in the course for looking into these subjects in more detail. So, in summary, there are no firm prerequisites that you'll need to study before taking this course, but having used the Azure Portal and having some knowledge of the Azure ecosystem will be helpful in getting the most out of this exam rundown. With all of that out of the way, let's move on to a brief introduction to Azure exams, and how the exam structure has changed in recent years.
