Site Recovery replication policy
- [Instructor] The first step in protecting your instances is to create a Site Recovery Replication Policy. This policy defines, among other things, how often the recovery points are retained, and how often app-consistent snapshots are captured. Depending on what you are trying to protect, the Replication Policy will require different settings. For example, a VMware and Physical Replication Policy will require a policy name, just as all policies do. It will also require the source and target, the source type that's being protected, and the location is where the data is being replicated to. In the case of this Replication Policy, a recovery point objective threshold is required. All policies require a recovery point retention and an app-consistent snapshot frequency, and these are to be set in hours. I'll be discussing these three items in detail momentarily.
