Logging in to a server as root is generally a bad idea. Learn how you can restrict root logins very easily by changing the value of one configuration option in sshd_config. After the change is made, you need to restart the sshd service. When trying to log in it's not apparent that the root account is being restricted but rather looks like the password is incorrect.
