Restore files to an Azure virtual machine
- In the last lesson, I showed you how to restore an Azure Virtual Machine. But sometimes, you only need the files and folders and you don't want to restore that entire virtual machine. Well, you can grab those files and folders using that virtual machine backup. Now, there is one caveat to this that you need to be aware of. This functionality is only available for non-encrypted virtual machines. You can initiate this recovery from the Recovery Services vault or from the Azure Virtual Machine portal. Whichever one works for you. I'm going to do it from the Recovery Services vault. I can select Backup Items from the overview page, or I can scroll down and select Backup Items under protected items. I'm going to go ahead and do it from the overview page. Now, I need to select the Backup Management Type, in this case, it was the Azure Virtual Machine Backup. I'm going to go ahead and select that. We would now be presented with a list of the Azure Virtual Machines that are being backed up.…
