A registry is only useful if we can use it, and in order for the AKS environment to retrieve data from the Azure Container Registry (ACR), it needs to push an application container into the registry first. This video walks through the process of creating a small application with Docker and pushing it into the ACR.
- [Narrator] And so here we see we have … a login that's been successful. … Now the next thing we have to do … is we have to create an image, … and push that image into the system. … So, if we already have an image locally, … which we can do docker images, … and this will show us what images we have, … we have nothing here locally. … So we can do a couple things. … We can either docker pull from another registry … into the local environment, … and use that image for something. … Or in our case, we actually have an application model … that we can build, … and so we can go ahead and use that, … and here's the command still from the registry.md file, … which is docker build, … and we're going to tell it where the directory is … that has the docker file in it. … And then we're going to give it an initial tag, … we're just going to call it hostname … and we're going to call it version one. … So we're going to copy that command and paste it, … so command+C, command+V, … and we'll go ahead and build it, …
