- [Instructor] In this lesson, I'm going to show you how easy it is to back up an Azure virtual machine. But you may be wondering why on earth do I have to back up our Azure virtual machines since there are already copies in Azure? Or maybe you're using availability sets and you're thinking, well, I'm protected. We know the virtual machines aren't going to go down because I'm using that availability set. But remember, these copies that are already there for us are only replicated virtual machines and you need to follow the same rules for virtual machine backups in the cloud as you do on-premise. Replication is not a backup. A bad update or fat finger delete will be replicated across all your virtual machines. That is why a backup is so important. And it's super-easy. In Azure, we can see our resource group, Azure Recovery Solutions. I'm going to go ahead and open up that resource group.
