Performance through design
- [Instructor] Hello, welcome to Mixed Reality Fundamentals. Today we'll be giving you a little tip regarding achieving performance through design. There are many specifications you need to consider when designing for mixed reality. A number of procedures must be undertaken before exporting your 3D model to Unity. It is extremely important that you export in the correct poly count, and map objects so that they respond well with your selected textures. There's also a number of tests to run through to ensure that the model is suitable for the scene. The most crucial thing, is to export the model in a Unity friendly format, so that your application does not reject the model, and performs at the most optimal speed. The recommended format for use of 3D models in Unity is FBX. To learn all about the requirements for optimizing performance through design for your immersive application, head over to our Mixed Reality Fundamentals course. Have a great day.
