Migrating to Azure AD

- [Male Narrator] If you're moving fully from an on-premises environment to a cloud, then ideally you'll want to migrate from Active Directory to Azure AD. Setting up Azure AD from scratch can be time consuming. And so syncing, as much as you can, from Active Directory to Azure AD is often the best solution. However, your migration options are limited. Due to the complexity of Active Directory compared with the simplicity of Azure AD, there's no official migration path between the two. Most of the directory objects, within an active directory domain, cannot be mapped onto Azure AD. For example, many group types, computer accounts, and group policies in this scenario, the migration process will typically involve syncing only the user entities from Active Directory. Many of the incompatible objects will be lost, as they cannot be migrated. In fact, Azure AD does not allow computer accounts to be created.
