Introduction to Azure Firewall

- Firewalls are a key component of any network security solution. Firewalls allow you to regulate traffic by only allowing what is required and denying the rest. As an example, a firewall protecting a web server may only allow inbound HTTP and HTTPS traffic. Microsoft Azure provides a managed cloud-based firewall to protect your Azure virtual network resources, known as the Azure Firewall. With the Azure Firewall, you can configure network rules that define source address, destination address, destination port and protocol. You can also configure application rules that define fully qualified domain names that can be accessed from a sub-net. The Azure Firewall has high availability built into it and scales based on demand. So if your traffic patterns change, Azure Firewall will automatically scale up or down to account for that.
