- [Instructor] Before you can actually get started with Microsoft Azure Backup Server let's talk about some of the installation requirements that go into installing this amazing server. There are a lot of features and functionality for this server, but there is also some very specific things that you have to consider when you are installing this server. So let's talk about some of the installation requirements. First off, the server can be an on-prem server, it can be a physical machine or virtual machine in VMware or hyperware depending on what your virtualization platform is for on-prem. Or, it could be an Azure virtual machine. In this course, I will be leveraging Azure virtual machines for this particular server. It has to run Windows Server 2016 Datacenter or Windows Server 2019 Datacenter server as the operating system.
