- [Instructor] Data management systems are a collection of different types of tools that are available to developers that enable us to store our data and not have to worry about all of the places where the data actually lands. It gives us a common way of querying. And over time, a lot of the data management systems have evolved to use common languages to describe how do we access it, how do we work with the data, how do we organize it? When we go to the cloud, there's a number of different things that we'll have to ask. And some questions that are going to be important are how are we going to use this data? What kind of data is it? And what kind of functionality do I need from that data management system?
