- [Instructor] Azure automation provides reliable management…and a predictable baseline…across your Azure environment.…Azure automation contains four main features,…these being process automation,…configuration management, update management…and shared capabilities…and we're going to explore each of these…at a very high level starting with process automation.…We can leverage process automation…to automate repeatable management tasks…and this is done through Runbooks.…For example, you could have a Runbook…that would start and stop all the virtual machines…in a resource group or subscription on schedule.…
Next, we have configuration management…and it's here where we can track inventory,…it's also here where we can track changes…as well as configure Desired State Configuration or DSC.…And DSC is critical to your Azure virtual machines…because it prevents your virtual machines…from going out of scope.…And this is accomplished through a simply PowerShell script.…In our example here, we're going to ensure…that our server always has IIS installed.…
