It is possible to use any container registry with an Azure Kubernetes Service, but leveraging the Azure registry means that data from deployed containers can be more readily deployed into the Kubernetes environment. In addition, access integration is better defined for ensuring secure access to a registry, including private container access for virtual private AKS deployment.
- [Narrator] In my command line client, … I'm already in the chapter directory. … And if I do an ls to get a directory listing, … I see that I have a registry file … and an application_example directory. … We're going to do a more on the registry.md file … and that gives us some instructions … for creating an Azure container registry. … Now the reason that we want to create our own … Azure container registry is that it's a private registry. … So it's not shared amongst … any other resources or communities. … You also have to log in to that registry to make use of it, … to read resources from it. … It's also in the same systems domain. … We're going to put it in the same resource location, … resource group as the rest of our AKS deployment … which means that we're actually going to be pulling … our containers from a local resource. … So even though we initially have to get them … into the container registry from some other location, … this case we're going to be doing it from our machine here, …
