A listener in an application gateway is used to redirect traffic requests from the clients to the service-providing hosts on the back-end. In this video, learn how to configure a listener.
- [Instructor] All right, the next thing we need to do … is configure some type of listener … to our application gateway. … We're going to click on "AppGW", our application gateway, … and go down to "listeners". … Listeners allow the application gateway … to understand what type of traffic is coming in, … so it can be redirected to a backup pool. … We already have one listener created, listener one, … was created during the creation of the application gateway. … But we're going to create a new one. … The new listener could be basic, … which is a single type of traffic, … or a multi-site, which is able to differentiate … different types of sites, based on for example, … the header for the HTTP request. … We are going to create a basic listener. … We will click on "basic", … and we are going to call it "listener two". … We then need to select … one IP for the front end. … And we have the public IP, so we select it. … And then we need to select our port, … where the listener will be expecting traffic. …
