Azure Site Recovery scenarios
- [Instructor] Let's take a moment to explore some of the Azure site recovery scenarios that are possible. We will not be covering all of the scenarios in this course, so please refer to the Azure documentation for the scenarios that we don't cover. First we'll start off where ASR started. A way to replicate your on-premise environment to Azure. In this simple scenario, virtual machines from on-site are replicated to Azure, and if necessary, you can fail over to Azure. You can also use ASR with Virtual Machine Manager, or VMM. Using VMM will allow automatic failover if the primary site becomes unavailable. Not only can you use Azure as a recovery site, but you can also use another site. And in this example ASR becomes the controller. No data is kept in Azure. Please note, you must use Virtual Machine Manager to do so. Not only can you protect Hyper-V virtual machines, you can also protect VMware virtual machines, as well as…
