Azure Functions benefits

- [Instructor] Adopting Azure Functions as a development platform to build serverless functions has several benefits. The first one is a programming model which is simple and very flexible. For example, you can connect to other services without writing a single line of code. This is undoubtedly a significant advantage that greatly simplifies development tasks just because their required code is less. Now, since Azure Functions is a serverless technology, it has the same benefits the serverless computing model has. For example, the economic cost of running Azure Functions is dramatically lower than that of other computing models since you only pay for the precise execution time. Likewise with Azure Functions, you don't need to manage servers or worry about upgrading or scaling them. To conclude, I like to share a graphic published by Troy Hunt who is one of the cybersecurity thought leaders. He said haveibeenpwned.com publishes the most recent news of computer security breaches around the world. You can find out whether directly or indirectly your email account has been impacted or involved in these attacks. Troy decided to use a serverless architecture and adopt Azure Function as a development platform. He recently wrote, "It's costing me 2.6 cents per day, "to support 141 million monthly queries "of 517 million records." In other words, Azure Functions is a technology prepared and designed for scaling computing resources at a very low cost with modern software solutions.
