- Amazon Web Services offers a professional certification program, which helps you to validate your AWS cloud expertise. Similar to Microsoft, most certification paths with AWS are role-based. Let's take a look. There are 3 different certification levels which require you to have gained relevant working experience. Foundational, which requires a minimum of 6 months experience. An Associate level, which can be gained after 1 year of working at associate level tasks implementing AWS solutions, and the Professional level, which requires 2 years of experience, designing, operating, and troubleshooting the AWS cloud. There are 3 AWS certification levels, which include the following job roles: The foundational level includes the cloud practitioner.
