From the course: Leveraging Cloud-Based Machine Learning on Azure: Real-World Applications

AI on Azure

- [Instructor] So what is machine learning on Microsoft Azure Cloud? Well, this technology allows your systems to think for themselves. In essence it gives them the logical processing that we have as humans. Ultimately we're attaching knowledge bases, or learning systems, onto traditional applications that we're leveraging on a daily basis. Fraud detection, health care monitoring of patients are just a few examples of the applications that we can leverage using machine learning. Ultimately this is about leveraging information or data, and finding patterns in that data. So you'll learn within the course that we're not only figuring out ways in which we're going to process information to create knowledge, but how to leverage information properly to make sure that we're training these knowledge bases correctly. At the end of the day this provides us with another level of automation. In many instances we can remove humans from having to do mundane tasks, such as the ability to figure out how a robot moves, or how a system is created, or how a fender is placed upon an automobile. Ultimately this replaces non-skilled jobs, and allows us to do better things quicker in a more consistent way.
