Types of groups
- Now let's talk about managing groups. The second quintessential pillar often Azure active directory environment. There are two main types of groups in Azure AD, security groups and Microsoft 365 groups. Let's do a comparison of these two. Security groups are similar to on-premises groups you already know and are familiar with. Whereas Microsoft 365 groups are new to Azure AD. Then security groups enable administrative comfort, so that admins can bring multiple users together and manage them collectively. Whereas Microsoft 365 groups are intended to facilitate end user collaboration. After that, security groups are used to grant access to applications and resources to its members. On the other hand Microsoft 365 groups are used to grant access to a shared mailbox, SharePoint site and teams channel to enable the collaboration I mentioned in the previous point.
