Join Brian Thurston Bralczyk for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating shapes: Moving beyond the rectangle, part of Axure for UX Design.
…In the last couple of videos, we saw all the different…ways we can change the visual look of a rectangle shape.…But if we are limited to only rectangles, Axure wouldn't be a very robust tool.…Though it's not obvious to a new user, it's…actually very easy to create a lot of different shapes.…You just have to know where to look.…I'm starting this video with a brand new Axure file, to give us a sandbox where…we can play around with our widgets and…not mess up the projects we've been working on.…Let's start with our old trusty friend the rectangle.…Just drag one onto the design area, anywhere…and let's put some text inside the rectangle.…
To do that just make sure it's selected and then start typing.…Let's also drag on a few other widgets.…Over here in our widgets pane, there's also one called placeholder.…Let's drag one of those on.…It's basically a rectangle, but it's got a big X across it.…The intent of the placeholder is to indicate a spot where…an image or some other content will go on the page.…When we're creating wire frames, we don't often know what the content will be.…
